About Featured Presenters:

Lydia Hislop was working on C4 racing programmes. She moved to the BBC to join the BBC team covering the Grand National, the Derby and Royal Ascot.

Richard Hoiles launched the programme on the original Racing Channel in 1995 and is a senior race track commentator and presenter for Racing UK. He joined the Hong Kong Jockey Club in June 1997. He now works for the race courses, C4 and Racing UK.

Ian Bartlett is another pioneer of the Racing Channel. Also an owner, with 17 winners to his name, he works for the BBC as a commentator as for Equida in France as a presenter and commentator.

Alice Plunkett was co-host of the Emirates World Racing Series for two years.

Emma Spencer worked for the Racing Channel and has been a member of C4's team of racing presenters. She also works for RTE in Ireland.

Peter Naughton has worked for The Racing Channel and William Hill radio, C4 racing. He contributes to Raceform, Racing and Football Outlook and Marten Julien Publications.

Stewart Machin is a racing broadcaster and race course commentator. He has also worked as a presenter for Channel 4 Racing.

Racecourses

Cartmel
Cartmel is a Jumps course in the Lake District. The course is a left handed oval of about 1 mile 1 furlong with tight bends.

Aintree
The home of one of the most famous races in the world - the John Smith's Grand National. This jump race course is situated just 5 miles outside of Liverpool.

Ayr
Ayr is a racecourse in Scotland with flat and national hunt fixtures. Situated on the Ayrshire coastline, Ayr is the venue for the Scottish National in April, the Scottish Derby in July and the Ayr Gold Cup in September.

Bangor-On-Dee
Set on the border between England and Wales, this track sits beside the River Dee Bangor is one of the most idyllic jump courses in the country.

Beverley
Beverley is one of the most popular small racecourses in Britain, on the historic "Westwood" area outside of Hull.

Carlisle
Regular for the Cumberland Plate, the course is situated in Cumbria Carlisle racecourse is set in open countryside excellent for the Jubilee Grandstand.

Cartmel
Cartmel is a Jumps course set in the Lake District. The course is a left handed oval of about 1 mile 1 furlong with tight bends.

Catterick Bridge
Catterick offers flat and national hunt racing and is one of the few courses holding a meeting each month of the year. The track is just off the A1 with Darlington the main train service about 15 miles away.

Cheltenham
Set in Gloucestershire, Cheltenham is the home of National Hunt racing. It is renowned among racing fans for the four day Festival held every March when crowds of 50,000 gather to watch the best horses and jockeys from Britain, Ireland and Europe.

Chester
Racing at Chester's historic Roodee course is the country's oldest racecourse.

Epsom Downs
Epsom Downs is home to the Vodafone Derby - the oldest of all the classic races around the world. Its unique mile and a half course switchback course over the Downs is a true test for flat racing.

Goodwood
Acclaimed as one of the most beautiful courses in the world, Goodwood is set on the top of the Sussex Downs.

Hamilton Park
Known as the Goodwood of the north, Hamilton Park is off the A74 near Glasgow and features a right handed loop and stiff uphill finish for both flat and national hunt racing.

Haydock Park
Haydock Park is the North West's year-round racecourse with excellent racing from January to December. Situated just off the M6, it features top-class meetings for both flat and jumps.

Huntingdon
The racecourse is outside Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire near Brampton and is set in flat fenlands.

Kempton Park
London's closest racecourse is set in Sunbury-on-Thames half a mile from J1 of the M3. It is the traditional venue for the big Christmas Festival featuring the King George.

Ludlow
The course is located in the South Shropshire countryside off the A39. It is a jumps only track and offers an enjoyable and informal day's racing in a friendly club atmosphere.

Market Rasen
Market Rasen is the only racetrack in Lincolnshire, and is exclusively a Jumps course - with fantastic summer jumping. It can be found between Lincoln and Grimsby.

Musselburgh
Originally known as Edinburgh Races, the courses hosts a total of 26 fixtures a year for flat and jump racing. It has had a £5 Million redevelopment including the refurbishment of the Edwardian Grandstand and all public areas.

Newbury
Newbury racecourse is home to both flat and jumps. The Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup is the big jumping fixture with the summer highlight being the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes. Good transport links by road and rail.

Newmarket
Racing's headquarters is home to two racecourses in the UK - The July Racecourse and the Rowley Mile Racecourse.

Nottingham
Set in 280 acres in Colwick Park just 2 miles from the city centre, Nottingham Racecourse has 21 days racing from March through to November and is popular after improvements to its facilities in recent years.

Pontefract
Pontefract has sixteen days racing between April and October, including three evenings and three Sundays and is easy to get from the A1 in Yorkshire.

Redcar
Set on the Yorkshire seaside, Redcar racecourse held on the nearby beaches.

Salisbury
Salisbury Racecourse is one of England's oldest racecourses in the Wiltshire countryside.

Sandown Park
Sandown Park is a winner of the racecourse of the year due to its facilities and outstanding racing. Located in Esher, Surrey its famous hill finishes create excitement for flat and jumps. The big flat event of the year is the famous Coral Eclipse.

Thirsk
Thirsk is sitting between the North Yorkshire Moors and the Dales with easy access by road, rail or air. Flat racing takes place from April to September.

Warwick
Lying close to Warwick Castle, Warwick Racecourse hosts both Flat and Jump racing.

Wetherby
Situated between Leeds and York on the east side of the A1, Wetherby hosts Jump racing fixtures in Britain. A new £4 Million Millennium Grandstand has given the course some of the best facilities around.

Wincanton
Set in the Somerset countryside, Wincanton Racecourse stages 17 Jump race meetings from October to May.

York
York offers the blend of sporting action - including the new £20 million Ebor Stand, which opened in May 2003. York stages 15 days of top drawer Flat racing each year, including the Ebor Festival which takes place over three days in August.
